Why record one’s journey through time?

The reason is simple …

“With great sensitivity to those who want to formally record their personal journey of life – one’s background, heritage, adventures, experiences, memories and to even help make sense of where one comes from and those who have gone before …  ‘The Story of A Life’ will become a family heirloom to treasure. It will be a wonderful gift for loved ones and a tangible way of recording one’s own special and unique life’s tale.”

From initial contact and interviewing to final presentation in book form, each client will be consulted and updated, done so with the utmost respect and care.

Once each story is written and verified, a Word document draft will be sent for checking and approval.

During the initial process each client will be requested to provide as many images as possible to support their story. Images in Jpeg or Tiff form – emailed direct or via WeTransfer. (Original photos can be posted and scanned and then returned, though it is preferable to receive electronic versions or even via phone transfer to ensure originals are kept safe).

Once all raw material has been gathered, layout and design will commence (see example here) and then sent as a PDF to each client to check.

Once all has been formally approved, it’s off to the printers where ten 40page books will be created (see example here). Each will feature a hard 250gsm matt cover and 150gsm inner, saddle stitched (saddle stapled) much like the fancy annual wall calendars one might buy, or the slick promotional programmes one can purchase at a fabulous theatre presentation.

The fee for each production will be $650 which will include all interviewing, writing and research, checking and approval, graphic design and the provision of ten 40page books posted at the end of the process. Payment by bank transfer – $300 at the onset and $350 on completion. (By comparison, some comparable biography services have a starting price of $2000!)
